It was a humble biro that catapulted Bridget Christie into the spotlight after her show, A Bic For Her, nabbed the Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013.

The sheer absurdity of a pen made specifically for women proved lucrative material for Christie, whose Radio 4 show, Bridget Christie Minds The Gap, also used unlikely subjects to stimulate a discussion about modern feminism.

Now she’s put unisex pen to paper and written A Book For Her, tackling issues such as female genital mutilation and page three while also being very, very funny.
