APRIL NEWSFLASH !! (26th April 2015)

Posted 9 years ago on April 26th, 2015

Hello fanticles

1. SORRY I’VE NOT WRITTEN FOR AGES.

I finally knuckled down to writing the book (A BOOK FOR HER) and realised that I had to work quite hard for a bit. Thanks for your patience. The book has got words in it and one drawing of man’s face that I did in my editor’s office using a black felt tip pen. It is about comedy, cheese rolls, farts, twats, ants, writing, feminism, more twats, and what’s happened to me over thelast couple of years comedy-wise. It also has some opinions in it. These might not be the same as your opinions, because we are not the same person. They might not even be my opinions by the time the book is published on 2nd July. I’m very fickle.

I think you might be able to pre-order it on Amazon here.

I will be having a book launch that I hope you can all come to. I’ll let you know about that nearer the time. I am going to be absolutely shameless in my promotion of this book. Absolutely shameless. I’m going to really commit to it. Just flagging that up now, so that you’re not confused when you see me on the sides of ambulances and on people’s headstones etc.

2. CHORTLE AWARDS

Hey folks, really, thanks a lot for voting for the radio series and the tour. I really appreciate it. I presume it was you lot.

3. TELEVISION

What about it?

4. EDINBURGH SHOW: A BOOK FOR HER

I am going to start writing the new show in May when I’ve finished the book. I don’t know what it will be about, but I think I will ask an ant comedian I saw recently to open for me. I really liked it, even though it went down like a sack of shit. I think, for an ant, it has promise, so I’m going to give it the opportunity of trying to work The Stand One every morning for a month and see if it can improve. I’m really generous like that. Then I’ll come out from behind a door at the side of the stage and do some new material and maybe read some bits out from the book, and then I’ll sign the books at the end, if anyone wants to buy a copy.
Please book early, it’s going to be an absolute RIOT. I don’t think you have any idea how much fun it’s going to be. You’re not going to believe it. I think you’ll come out of it thinking, "Crikey. I didn’t expect to have THAT much fun at 11am in the morning. I’ve just seen an ant." Although the show doesn’t actually exist at the moment so I don’t know if it’ll be any fun or not.
Remember, it is 11 o’clock IN THE MORNING. Not at night. Do you understand? It’s on in the morning, not at night. The morning. 11am in the morning.
We’re all done by midday. I hope you can come. TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE ON MAY 11TH.
